Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are continually released from cancer cells into biofluids, carrying actionable molecular fingerprints of the underlying disease with considerable diagnostic and therapeutic potential. Only 2–3% of blood-circulating EVs are believed to carry specific-disease signatures. Thus, there is great interest in developing technologies with single EV resolution for early detection.
